How To Figure Out Your Pool Table Size
In order to figure out your pool table size, you need a measuring tape. A rigid, metal measuring tape is best, but cloth measuring tapes can work too.
Use the diamonds on the side rails as a visual reference and measure straight across the short side of table, from one rail to the other:
Stop measuring when you reach the start of the other rail, and make a note of the measurement.
It’s likely that your measurement will be somewhere between 39 inches and 50 inches.
Measurements between 39″ and 40″ = 7 foot pool table.
Measurement of 44″ = 8 foot pool table
Measurement of 46.5″ = 8.5 foot pool table
Measurement of 50″ = 9 foot pool table.
If you have a measurement larger than 50″, you may have measured the long side of your pool table instead of the short side. To fix this, re-measure your table on the shorter side and you’ll probably get a measurement that falls within the standard, US pool table sizes.
